24 Hours in A&E
(Series 2&3) – Garden Productions / Channel 4
* Nominated for Best Factual Series at BAFTA 2013
‘A miracle of form and content.’ Lucy Mangan, The Guardian
‘Admirable, passionate, unexpectedly beautiful… The camera goes into the scanner with Kevin, it was wheeled along in Christopher’s wheelchair and then inside the flashing blue lights of the ambulance, 24 Hours in A&E’s camera-work has an inventive wooziness.’ Caitlin Moran, The Times
Documentary series set in Kings College Hospital, Britain’s busiest A&E department. This first episode in the series 2 begins during the morning rush hour, featuring patients injured during their commutes, including two cyclists with serious head injuries. Also in A&E are Kevin, who fell from scaffolding whilst repairing a roof and 80-year-old Bill, who has hurt his knee while drinking at his local working men’s club. Katalin recounts thoughts about being an actress before qualifying as a doctor.
Edit produced programme one in the series, ‘Rush Hour’ and worked as DV Director during the shoot. As a DV Director I used the Go Pro Hero 2 camera extensively – my shots feature heavily throughout the show and in the series pre-titles.
